THE APARTMENT

 

With amazingly thick old walls, our apartment is always cool in the heat of the summer, but warm in the autumn and winter months. White and refreshing, with splashes of Provençal colour and gorgeous tiled bathrooms, it  has one double bedroom and one twin, both with ensuite bathrooms, a spacious reception room, laundry room and private terrace with large dining table and barbecue.

Take in the full beauty of Château de Mappe from the top of our staircase, looking out over the grounds, the Mappe vineyards and the woods beyond

Our front terrace has the sun the morning, but remains in pleasant shade for the rest of the day. There's a table with chairs for up to eight - for eating a lazy lunch, playing games or, if you need, doing some work

Château de Mappe is an hour's drive from Marseille or Nice, and 5 kilometres from Lorgues, a pretty town with a Tuesday morning market that lures visitors from miles around
